Lens Lessons

Designed for the hobbyist photographer, start-up marketer,
creative entrepreneur or anyone who has access to a digital camera, ideally a DSLR (typically a camera with a removable lens).
No previous experience required.
Shopify and Etsy entrepreneurs and social media content generators
will especially benefit.

After several years of teaching professional photographers, my clients asked me to launch a beginners course and Lens Lessons was born!
After Level 1 sold out in 2017, I launched an additional level in 2018. 2019 saw 4 levels with more advanced classes which were also very successful.
2020 has the same 4 levels, split into two semesters - LV:01 and LV:02 are happening Feb and March. LV:03 and LV:04 dates will be announced later in the year.

Taught by yours truly at my downtown photography studio:
The Studio at 1322 Broad St. Unit D.

Your instructor: Me! (Kelsey Goodwin)
Award-winning, keynote-speaking, fun-loving  photographer/human.

"One of the most fun times I've ever had! Kelsey's classes are incredible learning experiences that encourage both the creativity and freedom for one to begin or continue their journey in the world of photography.

A supportive environment combined with the perfect balance of hands-on exercises and theory - Kelsey creates an engaging opportunity to discover traditional photography techniques as well as the secret tips and tricks used by the
best photographers out there today."

Paul Ruta

"In Lens Lessons LV:01 I learned more in the first 20 minutes of the first class than I’d learned in several years of owning my DSLR. Kelsey has packed this course with an incredible amount of valuable information. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to finally learn how to use that pricey camera they bought long ago. Dust it off and prepare yourself!"

daphne patterson

"Kelsey is an incredibly passionate and talented teacher, plus she’s fun!

My confidence and skill using a camera manually transformed within weeks with Kelsey’s clear and accessible way of teaching!

I’m coming back for more!!!"

ANNA LISA BOND

"I deeply appreciated the time and attention Kelsey took in revisiting the 'basics' for newbies like myself and for seasoned photographers alike. Each of us - on the spectrum of experience and knowledge - were able to glean the skills we needed to transform
 our existing skill sets.
...of course, if you've ever met Kelsey, none of this will come as a surprise! She's both an exceptional human being and an exceptional teacher!"

Monique de moor

"Lens Lessons was a major highlight of my year. I’d owned an SLR camera for two years and fudged around with settings but nothing seemed to stick. Kelsey brings such a fun energy to the content, and there were a lot of opportunities for in person practice. I also loved the weekly group critique - it’s so amazing to get the feedback of peers! Highly recommend for anyone even remotely interested in photography!"

Jess blue

"I am a graduate of Lens Lessons 1 and 2, and highly recommend to anyone interested in learning how to use a camera. More importantly, I recommend Lens Lessons and Kelsey as an instructor (and friend) for people looking to build community, explore self, and discover possibilities. This course supported me in learning different ways to tell an authentic story which is more than money can buy."

Kelsey Goodwin, Where too start?
I did Lens Lessons in 2017, And it totally changed the way I see the world.

I signed up for both courses, Lightroom and Photoshop, and on that first night of the course I took my first picture that wasn’t on an iPhone since 2011. Ever since then I haven’t stopped, Kelsey has been the magic that this boy was waiting for, the fuel to my creativity, the knowledge to push past my comfort zone.
Lens Lessons is amazing, but Kelsey Goodwin is incredible, her confidence, knowledge, teaching ability and most importantly her way with me, allowing me to be me, and blossom into my own creative way is something I am forever grateful for.
Since the course ended, Kelsey has been my one-on-one teacher for much of 2018 and has become one of the most influential people in my life, she is my buddy.

If you are thinking of picking up a camera, start with Lens Lessons. Game changer!
